Visited Places: Bahlburg, Beedenbostel, Betzendorf, Eisleben, Giessen, Hamburg, Harburg, Heidelberg, Herzberg am Harz, Hiddensee island, Luhdorf, Luhmuehlen, Lueneburg, Moellenbeck, Osterode, Putensen, Ruegen island, Salzhausen, Stuttgart, Tuebingen, Winsen an der Luhe.
Thanks to Mr Diedrich who had arranged the tourist visa for me. It took only 2 days. I just needed to pick up the visa on the next day.
So was the trip:
I stayed with family Diedrich in Luhmuehlen. The temperatur was 14 - 17 C. scale. Mrs Diedrich just needed that I introduce her Indonesia and take care of their sons Daniel and baby Carl, especially if she should take care of the horses. However, Tine (Mrs Diedrich) found it is not so effective if she learns Indonesian language, but she is still in Germany. She noticed that I had many friends everywhere in Germany, she just let me go visiting my friends.
I got new friends from the church. Every Sunday I joined the service at Johannis church in Salzhausen (-+ 1 km from Luhmuehlen). It was Marita who the first invited me to a coffee drink at her home in Salzhausen. We met each other at a Sunday school (church service for children). There were Christiane, Gabi and the reverend Heiner Frank.
Carole, whom I also met in the church, lived in the neighborhood in Luhmuehlen. What a surprise. She invited me to dine on grilled steak at her home. I met Reinhold, her husband, their daughters Amy & Alice. There were also Juergen & his wife Susanne, whom I already knew before. They lived next door to Carole. Juergen & Susanne invited me also to a grill on the other day.
Further there were Holger & June from the neighborhood, who invited me also to a dinner. June, Holger's wife, is an Indonesian. What a surprise! In a small village Luehmuhlen I could find an Indonesian. Christiane, a friend I knew from the Sunday school at the church in Salzhausen, invited me also to a coffee drink & dinner at her home in Garstedt.
These new friends were very friendly. They invited me not just for once, but often. Reinhold & family had once invited me to their family gathering & journey in Lopausee, which was ended in Betzendorf to play football: Betzendorf vs Lueneburg. It made a lot of fun.
It was a pleasure that I could visit my old and new friends, Indonesians & Germans, in Tuebingen, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Giessen & Hamburg. They were Avi, Lely, Erwin, Faby, Faisal, Ilona & her friend Christiane, Betsie, family Diederich, the family of Dr Matthias Diederich, my previous lecturer at University of Indonesia, who was assigned to be my skripsi advisor. (skripsi is the paper as a final task, which should be prepared by students at universities in Indonesia to achieve their title)
The family Diedrich and their relatives were also very friendly. The parents of Clemens (Mr Diedrich) took me to Eisleben, the birth & death city of Martin Luther (the church reformer). They knew that I wrote up Luther's Bible translation in my skripsi. I thanked them for that. I could visit the house of Luther where he was born and died. Margret, Clemens' mother, bought me clothing, since she thought I was not warm enough. Very nice!
Clemens' parents took me also to Ruegen island. Staying in a motel in Ostseebad, Goehren. There were also Heinz & Doris, the sister of Peter (Clemens' father). Since I didn't wear sport shoes, Antje (Clemens' sister) bought me ones. Very nice! Then we sailed also to Hiddensee island, we visited the vacation house of Gerhart Hautpmann (one famous German author). In Goehren I joined the Sunday service 2x.
It was Mrs Bolhoefer, Clemens' auntie, who was very friendly. During my stay at her home, she always gave me the first chance to take the food, if we eat together in dining room.
I was happy that I could visit Dr Hellmut Haug in Stuttgart. He was the person who had helped me a lot during my skripsi preparation. He sent me many literature for my research material. For free! Very nice! Thanks also to my previous lecturer, Dr Irene Jansen, who lived there. I may stay with her during my trip in Stuttgart.
The people I knew in Germany were very nice. They treated me eating, seeing some interesting places, seeing films & theaters. They invited me to join their leisure & pleasure activities. They presented me books about cities we visited together. They took me to the train station & pick me up from there. They pick me up from home and took me back home. Once Reinhold worried as I wanted to ride bicycle alone back home to Winsen from Luhmuehlen. It took 1,5 hours. It was at 22 o'clock, which was actually still light as 15 o'clock in Jakarta. Reinhold just arrived home from work, but he packed my bicycle into his car and took me home to Winsen. Very nice! It took only 30 minutes.
It was Mr Borstelmann (Tine's stepfather), who was nice & provided me with bicycle so that I could visit my friends in Luhmuehlen. Clemens, Tine, Daniel & Carl had left for Indonesia, therefore I stayed in Winsen. Mr Borstelmann told me the shortest route how I can reach Luhmuehlen from Winsen by the bicycle.
It were Margret & Marita who introduced me big hug. Generally, we Indonesians, don't have such tradition. There were still many persons who were so nice to me during my stay in Germany, but I can't write all. The story will be too long.
There were also nice people who helped me although they didn't know me. On the plane from Fankfurt to Hamburg there was an old gentleman who come from New Jersey. He helped me carrying my heavy bags from the plane as we landed at the airport. In immigration queue there was also a nice gentleman, who helped me to find the right queue. It was very difficult to find it among so many passengers. It was on my very first day in Germany.

Ruegen island: National Park Jasmund, Stubbenkammer, Kap Arkona, die Bad "Kraft durch Freude" from Hitler's time, Klein Zicker.
Stuttgart: Staatsgalerie, Stiftkirche, Fernsehturm, Bibelhaus (with Dr Haug), Mineralbad Leuze (with Dr Jansen, who presented me a modern black bikini. It was my first bikini)
Tuebingen: Hoehentuebingenschloss, University of Tuebingen, Johanes Kepler's house, Hoelderlinsturm, Stiftkirche, Philipp Melanchton's house, Ludwig Uhland's house (with Avi)
Heidelberg: Heidelberg castle on the mountain (with Faby & Faisal)

German pastry & food I ever enjoyed: Broetchen, Schinken, grilled Wurst, Pommes mit Maionese, Kartoffel & Spargel Auflauf, Brezel, Baguette, Hochzeitssuppe (in Beedenbostel), Mecklenburger Schweinebrat (in Ruegen), Marinierte Heringsfilet / Bismarckhering (in Ruegen), Schweinerschnitzel mit Hamburger Art (in Hiddensee), Rolladen, Gulasch, Lindensuppe, Erdbeerentorte mit Sahne, Obst-(Kiwi & Bananen)kuchen mit Sahne.
