On the Serenade in the Parish House of the Church “Stiftskirche” Stuttgart

As I promised in the 46th text and the 53rd text, that I will tell you the nice story behind the hymnbook of state church of Württemberg, I do it now. 😊

I was in Stuttgart. At 9 o’clock I and Mr Dr. Hellmut Haug made a city tour. We were in the state gallery “Staatsgalerie” and have seen the old altar, which comes from the church “Herrenbergkirche”. Then we were in the town centre and have looked round the church “Stiftskirche”.

We also went to the tower for watching “Fernsehturm”, where we looked at the Stuttgart city from above. Then we went to the office of Dr Haug. It is the Bible House in Möhringen, where the German Bible Society (Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft) is situated. I met his friendly colleagues there. Ilona was also there. She was the secretary to Mr Haug, whom I knew before thanks to our correspondence. We ate ice cream and talked. The colleagues talked about their experience and about what the Bible House just did.

Mr Haug invited me to a lunch in a Chinese restaurant, where I have heard a Batak song during lunch. It was a nice surprise. I think it was the song “A Sing Sing So”.

Now it started: we were at night in the Parish House of the Church “Stiftskirche”. There was a serenade. We have heard nice music and songs. We have not only heard singings, but also participated in the quiz. Mr Haug has answered a quiz correctly and may pull out a lottery ticket. Then he asked me to pull out a ticket for him. I did it. It was written on the paper: hymnbook. It was nice, Mr Haug has won a hymnbook of Württemberg state church.

What did happen next? Ooooh, Mr Haug gave the hymnbook to me. It was really very nice. Thank you very much. 😂 Then I asked the reverend of the Stiftskirche church to sign the book. He did it. Nice.
At the serenade I got to know an Indonesian woman, Juliani W. It was also again a nice surprise. On a day I have "experienced" Indonesia 2x. An Indonesian woman lived in Stuttgart. 😊 Juliani is married with Wolfgang W, a German man. This family lived on Spitta street.

Mr Haug has accompanied me then to go home. We arrived home at 23:30. During my stay in Stuttgart I lived with my ex lecturer at UI, Dr. I. Jansen. It was on Hölderlin street.

I told my friendly lecturer what happened on that day. About the hymnbook Ms Jansen told me, that I was a Glücksfee (literal translated: fairy of luck, however in English there is a term "Lady Luck"), someone who brings lucky to other. As I told my friend Avi about the hymnbook on the next day, she gave a short comment for fun, that it supposed to be cheating. 😉
