Ralf, Where Are You?

We were in the church GPIB Sumber Kasih, Lebak Bulus, Jakarta and joined the service. The Protestant Parish of German Language (Die Evangelische Gemeinde Deutscher Sprache), Jakarta, just held a special service. Several members would say goodbye, because they would leave Indonesia. The reverend Anas Hamami and his family should also return to Hamburg.

I sat between my ex colleague in KarstadtQuelle, Jakarta, Mrs Jenny and a German man. Mrs Jenny teased me and said, that the German man seemed like to get to know me. “He often looked at you.” I just smiled. 😊

I concentrated on the service and didn’t notice, whether the man really has often looked at me.

In the farewell party the German man just said hi to me. He said, that we have met once. I was very sure, that I have never seen him before, told him on the contrary that we haven’t met yet.

On the way home I thought about the whole happening. I could remember, that the man’s name is Ralf Scheunemann (or Scheuneman?). He and other people, who would leave Indonesia, were invited during the service to the front. Ralf would move to France. Oh, no, suddenly I remember, that I know Ralf Scheunemann indeed.

Ralf was the friend of my ex colleague, Frank Reuter, when we were still at Allianz Aken Life Jakarta at that time. Ralf is the brother of Silke, the friend of my friend Ningsih. I and Silke have already got to know in my campus UI at that time. The father of Ralf and Silke was a reverend. This family has lived for a long time in Malang, West Java. Frank has said at that time that my German is better than Ralf’s. 😉 I think, I and Ralf have met just once until two times.

Oh, how sad. I thought, I have a very good memory. Unfortunately it wasn’t. 😭 It was a precious lesson. I wish I had let Ralf talk about our meeting. Next time I should give someone chance to talk further, how and where we have once met.

Dear Ralf, thank you, that you still could remember me. I am so sorry, that I unfortunately on the contrary haven’t remember you. Maybe you thought, that I were conceited. If you by chance read my article, please contact me. I would be pleased.
